Great fun creating at Laughing One Studios with small group! This session was full of explorations with materials and processes resulting in over a dozen pieces of art and triple that number of smiles. One of the most essential aspects of guiding others in art making is that they own their work and satisfaction. This was certainly accomplished today! Hello & welcome 👋✨ I’m Susan Lachmann, a mixed media artist, lifelong cook, and the creative heart behind Laughing Ones Studios. My work lives at the intersection of art, food, design, and play. I believe ingredients can be materials, kitchens can be studios, and creativity is something we all deserve to explore together. 🍊🎨 Laughing Ones Studios is based at the Fischman Gallery in Johnson City, TN, where I’m cultivating a space for families and adults to slow down, get curious, and make art inside the gallery. This studio is about hands-on exploration and creative joy. There is no pressure here, just expression. Alongside my art practice, I’m also a longtime local cook (some of you may know me from WJHL or Daytime Tri-Cities 👩‍🍳), and food is at the heart of everything I do.
